Read Every Day
This R.E.D. (Read Every Day) folder is part of your child’s nightly homework. By reading with your child as often as you can and asking about their reading, you will promote fluency and comprehension skills.

Nightly Reading Homework: 1. Practice sight words
2. Read books in a bag (fill out reading log)
3. Ask 2 comprehension questions after reading (found in R.E.D. binder)

Important Information
J Books and sight words will be changed on Mondays, binders will not come home on Fridays (enjoy your weekend but read, read, read).
JPlease complete homework and return R.E.D. binders DAILY as we will be using them in class to practice sight words, review reading logs, and practice new phonics skills. (Feel free to review these phonics activities with your child at home as part of their fluency building activities.)
J Please DO NOT remove anything from the binder.
J These books belong to our classroom. Please remind your child the appropriate way to treat them, and be sure all books are returned in their book baggiess daily.
J Please continue to have your child read to you outside of just reading their books in a bag (picture books, chapter books, magazines, etc).
