Maternity Leave Updates
I cannot believe how quickly my due date is approaching! I have been busy in the classroom getting everything prepared so that when I go out instruction will continue as usual for your children even when I am not here. Last week Mrs. Bunny (the kindergarten aide) began to shadow in first grade to master our first grade routine to assist my long term sub in my absence. We are so lucky that she will be staying with us for the duration of the year! When I go out on leave Mrs. Heather Carney will be filling in as my long term sub. She is a regular sub in our building and already knows your children from her work in kindergarten last year. Your children will be great hands! My due date is April 28th so I am hoping to be in the classroom until April 21st. Please keep my family and I in your prayers as we eagerly await this wonderful blessing!

STREAM Theme: Earth DAy
Southtowns Catholic school is proud to be a S.T.R.E.A.M (Science, Technology, religion, engineering, art, and math) Academy. Our S.T.R.E.A.M theme for this week is Earth Day. Throughout the week we will be learning about ways to keep the Earth clean and healthy. We will be reading the Lorax and writing an opinion piece on why we do or do not think it is important to protect the Earth. Also, we will be learning about erosion, deposition, and weathering. Lastly, we will be engineering an Earth Day Machines out of recycled materials and writing what it can do to help the Earth.
